The 2012 Wives Behind the Badge Law Enforcement Children’s Scholarship Program is now open.
The scholarship provides financial assistance for the higher educational needs of the children (natural or adopted) of law enforcement officers. Applicants must be a dependent child of a law enforcement officer (full-time active service, retired, or killed in the line of duty), must be a current high school senior or currently attending a community college or 4-year university, must have a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.3 or higher (based on a 4.0 system), and must be active in the community through volunteer work. These children are eligible to submit an application for the two available scholarships – a first prize, which is a one-time payment in the amount of $1000.00, and a second prize, which is a one-time payment in the amount of $500.00.
The instructions and application are available for download via the link below. The deadline for this year’s scholarship applications is April 13, 2012. Applications will not be accepted via email or fax.
