What is an Auxiliary Committee
Auxiliary Committees are essentially our state representatives. They are working to extend the support and resources we offer nationally to the local and state level. They participate in various activities, including (but not limited to) critical incident response, appreciation projects for officers and agencies, planning events for spouses and for families, speaking to agencies and families about available resources, fundraising, etc. They will eventually offer their own statewide scholarships, act as liaisons between departments and families, help start family training/preparation programs, and much more.
How to start an Auxiliary Committee
- Fill out a volunteer application – 2012 WBTB Volunteer Application
- Submit your application via email to volunteer [at] wivesbehindthebadge [dot] org or fax it to (559) 408-5570
- Wait for an email or call from our Volunteer Coordinators (Jillian & Miranda). They will screen your application, then contact you to schedule training and an informal interview.
- Once you have completed training, we will begin working on starting your state committee
If you are interested in starting an Auxiliary Committee in your state, we encourage you to ask questions (feel free to email volunteer [at] wivesbehindthebadge [dot] org) and we encourage you to get the ball rolling as soon as possible. If we already have a committee in your state, please contact that state’s director and ask how you can be involved. Every volunteer must complete an application and go through basic training before they can work. We are eager for you all to get involved and succeed! We want to help every law enforcement family and you guys make that possible!
